For my lamp, I wanted to focus on creating a symmetrical design with simple, organic shapes.  The mushroom shape was actually a happy accident, but I was very pleased with the way my final design came through.  I went with such a small size compared to other designs so the lamp could be placed in busy, crowded rooms and provide the same high-intensity light while requiring minimal table space.
