My design was inspired by the shape of a tulip flower. I wanted to imitate its simple elegance. I modeled my design by taking sections from a base polysurface and then piping those sections to create notches. Lastly, I used extrudesrf to expand both materials to their proper thickness. In Keyshot I tried to match my real lamp materials as closely as possible. I chose a red oak for the wooden sections (to match the corresponding wood and red oak stain I have for my laser cutting materials) and a rough clear plastic to match my acrylic plastic I'm going to be laser cutting. I made the light bulb glass and added an emissive material to the filament in one view and copper in the next. Finally, I added an area light and turned up the voltage and turned down the brightness of my environment for maximum reflection and shadows in my lights on view.
