This design was obviously inspired by the movie "The Lord of the Rings".  The shape was built by a combination of sweeps, lofts and fillets. I tried a couple of different ways to achieve this form but sweep turned to be the most effective  one to achieve all those curved shapes the ring had. And finally for the text, I used picture frame to trace the engraving from a real image of the ring. and then project it into the ring's surface.
