I wanted to design a really simple "engagement style" ring. To do this I created a diamond in rhino then created a facet to hold the diamond in. I finished my ring off with a simple band that it a bit more raised up towards the top. In my facet I created four prongs with two bezels. The top bezel has a hole in it lo allow light to reach the diamond and be refracted. The lower bezel is solid but since it is made of gold light can reflect off of it and reach the diamond that way.
This week I really focused on using curves and modeling from them since I didn't do it so well on the sunglasses project. The commands I used a lot this week are offsetting extruding revolving and Boolean commands I had a lot of fun with this model.
