My initial inspiration for this ring was my love for Colorado and my home. I wanted to create something whimsical, yet simple, that captures the idea of, "Home is where the heart is." I looked at various other "house rings" including rings with castles and other interesting buildings. This greatly inspired me to make a little world of my own, and to hopefully capture a little bit of why I love my home state. I heavily utilized my projectcrv command in order to create the tapering band. I also used my basic boolean commands to create the simple little houses. I filleted every single edge to achieve a soft "toy house" sort of feel. When choosing materials, I knew I wanted something warm, rough, and metal. So I chose a brushed brass and amped up the warmth a bit. Overall I am very pleased with the finished product and feel that it achieved the warm homey feeling I was after.
