Maximiliano Acevedo week 9: scan model

For this project my team and I chose a foam model of a lock. The scanning process was interesting and fun. I ve never worked with a 3d scanning before, it was amazing . I find this tool very useful for future projects. I know we could have used it in a better way, but now that I know the way to use it it will be an amazing tool for the future, I am glad that SCAD has this tool for us. Fr the materials I chose steel and milled steel with some metallic colors, I think the convention of colors looks pretty good with steel.

Maximiliano Acevedo Week 10: Camera

For this project I felt like I needed to use all what we have learn in this class. I chose the Canon Mark III to make a better version of it. So I took the principal model of canon and used picture frame to get the shape in volume. I did some changes in the design, some lines and also the biggest change that i did it was the screen. I change the screen to be a big screen on the back and I took all of the buttons out of the back. The screen will be a touch screen and you will be able to command all the camera funciotns in there. The lenses as always will be the EOS line. I did a replica of the 400mm red line and the 24-70mm ultrasonic. For the materials I tried to go with the same materials used in the MarkII, soft plastic and rubber are the principals materials used on the body and lenses, the white lens is made out of steel with a coat of metallic paint. 

INSPIRATION

Max Acevedo : week 8 Tubuar chair

For my tubular chair I decided to design a tubular sofa/chair. It is build by several different pipes. The construction of this design shows comfort and softness at touch. The design is made to enjoy sitting down on it. It comes with a big "pillow" on top of the chair for the best posture of the human body. The POLAR  chair is built carefully with a inside frame of light brush steel. Mostly all of POLAR chair is made out of memory foam and soft touch fabric. Different kind of memory foam are used in this design. The thickness layer  ( grey) it is a very rigid foam, the white and blue are very soft and comfortable with a soft fabric when touch.

The use of pipes in Rhino is unlimited and in this project I learned how many different things you can do with them. The commands contour and section were used in this project. Every project that we do I find Fillet edge more interesting and important when rendering. While rendering, as I already explained I used soft touch materials and brushed steel for the legs and inside frame of the pipes.

Max Acevedo : Week 7 Lamp

This lamp was inspired by my favorite sport with is golf. Every day at practice I always see golf balls so I decided to create a golf lamp with this beautiful image. This is a golf ball in a tee. IT mean a lot for me. I decided to create all of the horizontal contours of the ball visible. The light bulb is early reachable from the top part. I find very useful the section and contour tools. The way we made the notches and how we used Block was very amazing, it makes life easier when designing in rhino something that could change the size. When rendering I decided to go for a Warm color of wood and just place it with warm light as well. I feel that the warm color will look amazing in an office. I chose this name because it is very simple to remember and also it means a lot just to use the word "golf". The Golf Lamp will be a small but beautiful art piece for all around the house, I will use mine in my studio at home.

Max Acevedo: week 6 ring

For my ring model I got inspired by a unity relationship. I have found there are so many ring models for relationships and for promise rings. So i created UNITY ring. It is a ring made out of two pieces. Each piece is different but when they get together in your finger they make the shape of just one ring. It has a meaning of unity, since a relationship is between two different persons, the ring is also made of two different rings. When this two persons get together the make a one, same thing with UNITY ring, when the two pieces get together they make a ONE. UNITY ring is personalized with the initials of both persons of the relationship in the inside of the ring, as well of a beautiful carved heart.

UNITY ring could be made in different metals, the original design will come in Light brush steel with black paint in the details. You can choose the color in the details or even the metal, gold, copper or silver are available.

Maximiliano Acevedo Week 5: Glasses

For my glasses design I was inspired by the traditional Ray-ban, wayfarer. This is a very famous style, but i thought, how about if you could have different pairs of sunglasses in the same?. So I created my COLOR glasses with this inspiration. COLOR glasses come with four different interchangable color pieces.  COLOR glasses are made out of solid shiny plastic and the glass it is a shiny dark middle grey color. You will be capable of disamble and as amble with other colors to have a different look every day. The way it works is very simple, each piece has a magnet inside of the plastic that when you adapt it with the other piece will get together and then to take it out you will need to pull it out. When the glasses get to the market you will be able to buy separated pieces in different colors and patterns!. It is really easy and fun so now you will have a different color look every day with COLOR glasses.  COLOR glasses are unisex and can be used for the whole family, from the doughtier to the mom or dad, even grandfather could buy a pair of black pieces to build it in a solid black frame!

The use of images to create rhino models is very useful. I found really helpful to be able to follow the lines of your sketches while you model in rhino. The tool crv2view was amazing and i find it ver interesting for next models. I can see how much we have learned during this past 5 weeks, every command and different tool has been used in this project. I choose the name for this sunglasses based in the colorful idea of changing the look every day. Perhaps sounds really simple but I feel the name COLOR will be easy to remember for the costumer.
