Isaac Toonkel: Week 10 Shoe

For my shoe design I created a ski boot. I wanted to create a ski boot because I ski and am looking forward to it over the holiday break. The boots feature an easy to close buckle that secures your foot in the boot. The inside has a soft, warm padding to keep your toes warm and reduce blisters. The toe area features a large toe lug that insures a secure connection to your skis. Near the ankle is a pivot point for when you aren't skiing so it can be unlocked for easier walking. 

The boots are made from a variety of materials. The upper cuff, and front toe plate are made from a blue carbon fiber so strength isn't substituted for weight. The main body of the boot is made of high strength plastic. The inner lining of the boot is a soft synthetic material and the straps are mad of nylon. The buckles are made of anodized aluminum.

To create the model, I created a boot last using curves and the network surface command. After completing a basic form, I used the project command to add shapes to the surface, then offset the surfaces to create raised shapes. To create the straps and the inner soul of the boot I used the sweep 1 command to create a surface along a curve. For the lighting in keyshot I used a custom HDR setting that has worked well for me before. For rendering, I rendered in passes and altered how they meshed with each other in Photoshop.

Maximiliano Acevedo Week 10: Camera







For this project I felt like I needed to use all what we have learn in this class. I chose the Canon Mark III to make a better version of it. So I took the principal model of canon and used picture frame to get the shape in volume. I did some changes in the design, some lines and also the biggest change that i did it was the screen. I change the screen to be a big screen on the back and I took all of the buttons out of the back. The screen will be a touch screen and you will be able to command all the camera funciotns in there. The lenses as always will be the EOS line. I did a replica of the 400mm red line and the 24-70mm ultrasonic. For the materials I tried to go with the same materials used in the MarkII, soft plastic and rubber are the principals materials used on the body and lenses, the white lens is made out of steel with a coat of metallic paint.

Eris Muller: Week 10 Genori Shoe





         My first design was where the heal had a piece of material that wrapped around it but  decided it would be better if I added a buckle to the shoe. The cut outs in the shoe add a classic yet fun flare. I didn't want to have a straight down since that is very typical of high heals so I sliced through the wedge. I incorporated the name of the shoe into the sole using pipes.
        The materials I used were red velvet and brown leather for the top, brown and black cloth for the inner liner and buckle is made out of nickel. I choose red because red serves as a neutral for a lot of outfits, and of course brown can go with most anything.
        The tools that were most used in the process of making my shoe were curve to view, split, project, trim, sweep 1 and 2 and extrude surface.

Eris Muller: Week 8: Piped Chair Sipra







            Although the chair is not entirely piped like most it still contains the same elements as a piped chair would. The name of the chair came from inspiration from the lamp. The pipes in the chair are meant to be an area where someone can prop their feet up onto and the pipes in the middle serve as a place where a notebook can be placed or another item.
           The materials I used are clear shiny plastic for the logo, nickel satin for the E on the logo, rubber # 2 for the chair itself and hard rough plastic (cream) for the pipes in the chair. I wanted a seemingly professional chair in the matte black as well as a flare of design to the back of it. For the other colors, the red is hard rough plastic (crimson red), the white is hard white rough plastic and the yellow is hard rough plastic (electric yellow). The bars in between are aluminum except for the middle which is hard rough plastic.
          The tool is used most in Rhino were the ploy line and the control point curve to make the general exterior shape. I pipe tool for the bars, boolean union to join all of the shapes, and split to get rid of excess lines.

Max Acevedo : Week 7 Lamp








This lamp was inspired by my favorite sport with is golf. Every day at practice I always see golf balls so I decided to create a golf lamp with this beautiful image. This is a golf ball in a tee. IT mean a lot for me. I decided to create all of the horizontal contours of the ball visible. The light bulb is early reachable from the top part. I find very useful the section and contour tools. The way we made the notches and how we used Block was very amazing, it makes life easier when designing in rhino something that could change the size. When rendering I decided to go for a Warm color of wood and just place it with warm light as well. I feel that the warm color will look amazing in an office. I chose this name because it is very simple to remember and also it means a lot just to use the word "golf". The Golf Lamp will be a small but beautiful art piece for all around the house, I will use mine in my studio at home.

Eris Muller: Week 7 Ciya Lamp




                The lamp that I created shows an elegance in the tower feature of how the points rise up to the top and the wide base drawing your eye up. After developing many different designs I decided it would be best to go with the simpler one.
                The materials I choose were dark wood because it thought it was successful in making the lamp seem professional. The light bulb base is made of aluminum to reflect the light and further making the light more illuminated. There are tiny fillets on all of the edges to enhance the 3D feature.
                I used the mirror tool the most to mirror the pipes and the planes. As most students did, I used contour and sections to make the planar curves. Lastly I used the tool cap to make the planes into 3D objects.

Eris Muller Week 6: Antler Ring

         After searching the internet for unique and interesting rings I found different rings with animal head on it and ones that had bird talons wrapped around. I decided to model my ring after intertwining deer antlers. When the model is 3D printed I will hammer the edges to make them more circular and have that natural rough look to it.
        The techniques I most often used were offset, surface extraction, control point curve tool while rebuilding the points to get the desired curves. I tried at first to project the antler curve to a surface and then I would trim out the excess but when it projected the image it warped, then I figured out how to control the points so they lined up properly.
       The only material I used was a nickel light satin. I toggled with the material properties and the lighting effect on the background and to the ring itself. I tired to use the passes but I decided to put it into Photoshop and manipulate the curves, levels, contrast, and other effects to get the desired dramatic appearance.

These are my Opti glasses, they are made for comfort and focus when running, biking, working out ect. Personally I like headphones that wrap around my ears and that causes a problem when wearing sunglasses and being active. With this design ears are not needed and the bands work with some tension to keep on your head. The side keep dust from sliding in on the side which happens a lot in the suburbs when people are doing their lawns. The band is made from carbon fiber and the back pad is leather. The top part of the lens cap is made from a smooth plastic.
