I wasn't in class when Professor Scott went over this tutorial but I eventually figured everything out. To make the handle I projected a oval shaped curve, split, deleted, and filleted. For the offset section I projected my curve, split, scale 3Ded it inward, and finally used blendSrf. to complete it. I followed the tutorial videos for the cap. My materials are plastic or painted.
