My design was inspired by a pair of sun glasses that I own. Their aesthetic fits modern trends in accessories and sunglasses. My intention was to re-create my sunglasses, making slight adjustments to the form in order to make them more comfortable and useful.
To model this design I relied on the picture frame tool. This allowed me to make curves to get the main shapes and then create surfaces through sweep2, loft and patch. To make the lens I used the Crv2View tool, and created thickness by copying the resulting surface and lofting them together. Finally I did the metal frames by creating curves (taking special care on their movement around the frame), and then piping the curve.
My material and color choices were based on the good quality design aesthetic that I wanted to recreate. I used a hard plastic for the frame and legs.  The pipe around the lenses is made of metal (polished titanium) in order to stand out. Finally the lens are made out of glass.  All of the design has very toned colors in order to keep it uniform and formal.
