For my glasses project I decided to model a redesigned version of aviators. I kept many of the traditional elements such as the wire frame and large lens, but I changed the shape of the lens and simplified the arms of the frame. I spent the time on my model to make sure that all the parts are realistic including functional hinges and coiled wire to make the nose rest flexible. In production, the frame would be made of a cheap wire with a polished coating, and the lens would be made of a thin tinted plastic. This makes them easy and cheap to manufacture, stylish, and practical to use.
