Marcelo Torres Week 2 Duck

For this design, I took as inspiration the basic shape of the traditional rubber duck and then I started modifying it from there. I wanted to create a design that was both visually appealing as well as useful and simple at the same time, something to be used on a daily basis.
For modeling, I used the "project" command, control points, and lofting. I also used solid, curve and surface tools to edit these surfaces respectively.
For my duck, I chose a combination of dark and light wood as its main  material. I also used glass for the divisions in the center opening to make it more interesting and diverse. Glass also has unique lighting features, which I though would ad to the rendered design.  I chose wood because I wanted to produce something different and with a touch of style. I also think that the wood works well with the organic shape of my product. The eyes are made out of yellow plastic because as it is a rubber duck, I think it must have a childish touch to it.

  1. You have done a wonderful job. A couple things to make this perfect. Do not crop your images. Maintaing the 11x17 format. Add the show edges info to your ghosted image. them this will be perfect.
