To model the chair I started of determining the basic shape I wanted to use for the chair and created outlines. From there I used a combination of the pipe command along with sweep 1 and sweep 2 to create the structure of the chair. From there I rebuilt some of the pipes so I could use the control points and change the shape a little bit. I also used extract surface and a combination of blend surface and patch to clean up some of the pipes. Once all the general structuring was done I used boolean unions to join parts of the chair. Once all this was done I went back and tried filleting the edges. I got most of the major edges, but the small interior edges would not fillet because they were all intersecting very close to each other.
In Keyshot I chose a combination of metal and leather materials to create the chair. Both of these materials along with the color scheme seemed to fit in with the concept of a yacht helm chair. I worked with the bump and texture sliders in the material section in order to create the correct texture of the materials for this model. For the environment I used a basic 2k environment with a neutral background.
