Justin Montan: Week 10 Scanned Object
The idea for a bean came very easily. It is simple in shape and can be manipulated many ways. After the laser scan, fusing and clean up, I approached the idea of using the bean's existing form to my advantage. While in Rhino, I used a dynamically placed polyline located on the x-axis to extrude and trim off the excess. By doing this, the flat bottom of the bean bag was made. My inspiration for the pattern on the last keyshot rendering was derived from a show called Even Stevens, which one of the characters was named Beans. The photos are a then and now. This comparison of beans in the past and present is popular among my generation, and I hope that others will relate, and find some humor in the Beans Beans Bag Chair.
