Layers for Keyshot |
Keyshot render 1 |
Keyshot render 2 |
For the camera model I found inspiration from my hobbies. I like to be outdoors and on the water a lot so a few years ago when the GoPro came out it was very neat. There have been 3 main versions of the GoPro since it release and many small variations. For my inspiration I drew from the newest GoPro, the Hero 3. I wanted to test my precision in recreating a product based on the guidelines for this project.
In Rhino all the surfaces are trimmed, split and blended. I used picture frames for the precision of the device. For some blends I started by filleting the edges then deleted the fillets and blended. When blending I liked the feature of being able to adjust the curvature a little more after filleting. I also used Boolean difference, control point manipulation, and sweeps.
In keyshot I used a picture reference and matched the materials. To match the rubber material around the edges I used a box texture map to create the rubber texture. I also added in ambient lights where the camera has lights. I used render passes in Photoshop along with finishing details like adding in a screen and adding the actual text that is on the camera.
