Marc Fleischmann: Week 4 - Detergent Bottle

I designed my detergent bottle with big handle which is supposed to make it easier to handle. The cap is taller than on most standard bottles to open it easily, even when it got slippery from water or soap. The whole front side has a large clear surface that makes it easy to see how much detergent is left in there. The entire bottle is made out of plastics, that makes it easy and fast to produce and recycle.
In this project I used many different techniques for filleting the edges. Some edges could be filleted with a regular fillet command, for others I had to split the surfaces and blend or sweep them. I learned a lot how to connect surfaces and repair naked edges or improve my fillets. Also starting with a good, strong drawing in the begin of the modeling process would make work a lot easier. The more I edited or added surfaces, the harder it got to handle even the smallest kinks or mistakes in the basic drawing.

  1. Nice work. You have a seam in the front. Line up the control points used to produce that surface and it will flow nicely together.
