Jay Jones: Week 5 Glasses

The inspiration behind my sunglasses evolved from the the idea of the perfect shades. I have been on the search for these so-called shades and have not been able to find them, so I thought I'd make them. I like vintage frames and feel like they shouldn't have gone out of style in the first place. I used Polished 24k Gold for the Frame Arms, a Tortoise Shell Texture on Beer, Platinum for the Side Accents, and Black Dense Glass for the Lenses. For the process of making this pair of shades, I Rebuilt the surface of the Patch for the lenses and used the Control Points to shape them. I curved the Arms with a smaller arc, which was different from the one used for the front of the glasses. Also for the lenses, after the patch was finished I used OffsetSrf to shape the lenses.
