Lily Karatzas: Week 5 USB Project
I was inspired by my own USB drive, which I carry everywhere on my keyring, consequently I took the model from the demo tweaked it a bit and attached it to a set of keys. I also added my name on one of the key tops. One of my most frequently used modeling techniques in the USB was project. I also used offset surfaces a few times. I modeled the key rings using a piped helix and finished with some extruded surfaces for the keys. In Keyshot I used shiny plastics for the body of the USB and titanium for the end piece. As a special touch I added light to the USB logo so it would light up while plugged into a computer. The key rings are a smooth aluminum and the keys are made from various scratched metals to indicate wear. Lastly, I added a medium lighting environment.
