Benjamin Osborn - Week 6 - Ring

  Being a huge Lord of the Rings buff, I wanted to create something from Middle Earth.  One of my favorite props from the movie is Nenya, the ring wore by Kate Blanchett as Galadriel http://www.theargonath.cc/pictures/rings/rings10.jpg .  I wanted to make a ring that was obviously inspired by the movie prop, yet a little toned down and less flashy.  In Rhino I used the extrude planar curve, bend, array, and filler to make the flower. For the band I used a UV surface, offset, and fillets.   While rendering in rhino, I wanted it to look elegant, not as over the top as the movie prop. I used black chrome, and platinum for the metals, and diamonds for the gems.
