Isabella Pineda: Week 6 Ring

To create this ring I was inspired by the Legend of El Dorado. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Dorado This mystical place supposedely located in the central region of Colombia. Spanish conquistadors tried to find this place for years without success. Legend says that El Dorado had tons of gold, the buildings, streets, objects, everything was built with gold. The emperor of this indian tribe called the Muisca Tribe would cover himself with gold dust and dive into the Guatavita river.
To model this ring I used the extrude curves command, boolean difference and boolean union, curve two plains, and mirror tool. I first created the base ring and then by using an ellipse to split a bigger cylinder I created the top part of the ring. I then used spheres to create the stones.
For my materials in keyshot I used Gold and Jade. The gold communicates the wealth and beauty of the Muisca Tribe, and reflects El Dorado. For the stones I chose jade because it shares the same color as the emerald, which is also another product that is produced in Colombia. The design is tribal and reflects the native tribes of latin america.
