Jay Jones: Week 6 Ring Model

The inspiration for my ring came from a Custom Luxury watch that I found on a website that I subscribe to called Designboom. The watch was featured in 2011, and its iconic elegance struck a chord inside my industrial heart that stayed with me to this day. Seeing this watch made me want to be able to make something of its caliber one day if given the tools, and ELDS-205 has given me these tools. Duplicating the luxuries of the watch was hard but I think I did a good job. The materials used for the ring were brown leather for the diamond housing, diamond for the diamonds with an added Texture of diamond from a JPG, 24k Gold with a orangish hue for the framing of the diamonds, and Pure 24k Gold for the ring itself. Also with the top of the ring I used Glass to accentuate the mechanism in the inside of the ring. The mechanism is a weekly calendar that changes to show you the different days of the week. The methods of making this ring in Rhino consisted of Array Polar, Boolean2Objects, BooleanSplits, Sweep2's and OffsetSrfing.
