Marc Fleischmann: Week 6 - Ring

With my ring design I wanted to stick to the idea of my sunglasses that I created last week. The ring has a very slim shape, it is not meant to be a bold accessory on your hand. But still, with its flowing and rhythmic design it will be more than remarkable enough to bee seen. This ring is made out of silver, that gives it a nice and elegant look but is not as pompous as materials like gold may sometimes appear to be. If you have small hands or you're just looking for a light and comfortable ring, The Flow will be a good choice!
To create the Rhino model I split a circle in two halves and adjusted the top end to the shape the have now. Then I used a Sweep1 with variable cross sections, extruded the tip on the top along a curve and blended them. Finally I mirrored the half ring twice to get the shape it has now and cut out the parts at the bottom, using the FlowAlongSurface command.
The rendering in KeyShot was made by creating multiple render passes ( Beauty, Occlusion, Reflection, Specular) that were adjusted to the final rendering in Photoshop later.
Rendered, Passes
Rendered, Passes
