Andrea Young: Week 6 Ring Model

3D Printed Ring
Serrulata refers to the species of Japanese Cherry Trees. It reflects the inspiration I found for my ring. Natural and organic shapes and forms create the main ring.  They connect in a skeletal form like branches intertwining. The stones mimic buds sprouting up. They add detail to distinguish the top of the ring.

I created the ring by designing the surface and extruding it. Afterwards the "bend" command bent the piece to form one half of the ring. I mirror and booleanned the two together. Finally I created the insets for the stones.

Material for the Serrulata are simple and natural like the ring. I used gold for the main structure and crystals for the stone. I avoided diamonds to keep the cost lower.
