Marc Fleischmann: Week 3 Hammer

For this project I tried to design a Hammer that is very functional and aesthetic at the same time. The head is made of stainless steel and I used strong woods for the shaft. The handle has a slightly curved shape, wider at the top and bottom parts and thinner in the middle. It is covered in perforated leather, nylon strings are wrapped around it. All this is supposed to create a comfortable and safe position for the hands at the handle.
I used a lot of filleting techniques for all parts of the hammer to create smooth edges. Also I could improve my skills in modeling objects from curves to solids. Especially in the head piece I used a lot of surface blending as well to create natural looking transitions between the shapes.
