Marcelo Torres: Week 3 Hammer

For this design, I wanted to create a hammer design that was comfortable to use, durable, and good looking. For a good grip and durability, I gave it a rubber handle with circular indents around it. I also added an ellipsoid shape at the end which is bigger than the handle, as a safety measure to avoid it from slipping off the hand. For aesthetics, I added a wooden design with a thin aluminum border, and also made the indents of the grip the same aluminum color.
For modeling this hammer, I used revolve for the handle and the cylindrical metal part. I also used project, pipe, booleans, loft and fillet.
I made the hammering part out of steel because it is durable and strong. This material also helps with the lighting on the keyshot rendering because of its reflective properties.

  1. Wasn't really excited about your model at first glance but it really came to life with your material assignments and compositions. Good work and nice use of fillets.
