The Gentleman's Pocket Light (TM) was created by the masterful hands of Desmond Martinez himself. He wanted a pocket light that was both elegant and aesthetically bold yet soft. The design was intended to be something original, coming from an angle that would most likely (surpass, outclass and) not be pursued by his fellow colleagues. He claims his inspiration came from that of the unpredictably winding road that each gentleman must venture down in order to gain charisma, grace, and of course, style. However, critics claim that he modeled the pocket light to resemble the texture seen in wood grain making a distinct link between form and material. We may never know what inspired him, but what we do know is that the resulting product is nothing short of divine.

For this product, Desmond tamed the wild beast that they call the Rhinoceros (5). In his field-study notes it was documented that he employed the techniques of first lofting between two identical closed-curves. From there he went onto using the twist command many dozens of times in many dozens of trial and error scenarios. After finding the form for the handle that represents that of only the most commendable of gentleman, Desmond then went onto to work on the head piece by Boolean differencing out the triangle shaped solids and twisting them to the exact degree desired. Finally capping the ends and always filleting, we thus see the form that promises to reside in the history books for many decades to come.

As far a materials are concerned, only the most finely sought metals and wood grains were used to fit such a form. The back breaking, pain staking, arduous task of click and dragging the the materials to the destined form was something Desmond was willing to do in order to give nothing but the best to his deserved, high-profile clientele. In-laid with black chrome in the handle along with a cherry wood finish gives the classic feel of a rigid core with the comfort-ability of wood in the hand. The head of the pocket light is cast in aluminum and polished brass with genuine black leather in between the two sections to truly make this pocket light a cut above the rest for only the finest gentleman.
