My detergent bottle was inspired by a drop of water. I wanted to create a design that would bring awareness to keeping earth clean and reminding people that chemicals don't mix well with our planet. That is why my bottle is biodegradable and can also be used more than once. When it comes to the design of the bottle, I wanted it to have an irregular shape inspired by the drop of water and also i wanted it to have a unique handle. Instead of having a hoop as a handle like every other detergent bottle, mine is meant to be held by the neck of the bottle where the finger slits are.
When I was designing my bottle, i started of with simple outline curves and then, I used the sweep 2 tool, to create the surface of the bottle. Then I drew some curves on the surface, projected them on to the surface and created the center part of the bottle. I then caped the top and bottom of the bottle, created the cap, and drew out some other curves to create the ridges where your fingers rest. I used the mesh tool to patch up the holes that make up these ridges.
Last but not least, i chose to use plastic as the material for my bottle, to give it the effect that it is recyclable. I decided to go for three tones of blue to sick with the water drop theme and I made the center part out of clear plastic to give it a modern and pure look. I also added a hint of green in the cap to switch it up and vary it a little bit, but at the same time they complement each other and still go with the earth theme.
