Shape Ways Flashlight
 Flashlight Off
 Flashlight On

For my flashlight design I wanted to create something very elegant and modern. I wanted to create many grooves along the surface and also have many things to elevate the design so that it looked tangible, but also like a piece of art. I created a piece that is very fragile, but is for the use of any age and being any easy grip flashlight for everyone. The grooves at the top of the piece are for holding at different angles towards the front and the design towards the back of the piece is also for extra grip.

I used many different techniques throughout my flashlight process such as Boolean Difference to create different grooves in the piece. To create my gripping towards the bottom I extruded a shape that I created with Polylines and then used Polar Array. I also used many different Polar Arrays throughout the piece. I used a lot of cutting and copying throughout the piece and filleted most of my pieces throughout the process to give a more smooth texture to my flashlight.

For my materials I used a lot of jewels to create a very elegant and elusive texture to the piece. I used the jewel for the overall body because I wanted it to have a very fragile appearance about it. For the bottom of the piece I used steel because it correlated well with the piece. For the grip design towards the bottom I used a light plastic. Then to create my lighting affect I used LED lights to create a nice shadow in my renderings.
