Billy Nisbet: Week2 Flashlight

I took on the challenge of designing an ergonomic cover for this flashlight. I began by wrapping the flashlight in putty and taking hand impressions. The intent was to make a grip with the most comfortable hold for my hand while maintaining an attractive aesthetic.
To achieve the shape of this cover, I revolved a profile around a central axis. Then I created several profiles that allowed me to cut away at my original object. By adjusting the patch tool, I was able to fill these gaps back in with a web.
I envisioned this sleeve being produced from a rubber product with a little bit of grip. The choice of a similar background shade and color was made to help highlight the subtle curves present in the cover.
The material type "emmisive" really helps the scene look more realistic (along with global illumination and ground illumination).
