My sunglass design, Apollo 172, is inspired by the classic Aviator sunglass design. The earpiece in the back of the glasses is designed to be flexible and curve around the shape of the head. I added small details in the front solely for looks as well as on the sides. There are hinges at each side of the glasses for easy storing. The lenses are rounded to fit around the eye easily.

I started off by making the frame of the glasses by piping a curve that I had created. To make the lenses I took the original curve of the frame and used sweep. The detail at the front and sides was created by placing several cylinders on top of a box shape and using booleanunion to union the shapes. The back earpieces were created by extruding a curve. To create the hinges I split the side detail, extruded two different curves for either side and booleandifferenced the two extrusions.

I used an anodized rough black for the frame of the sunglasses to give the design a clean finish. The lenses are a clear shiny plastic in the color slate gre. This gave the design a slight pop of color while not looking too flashy. The back earpieces are a soft black rough for comfort. The nose-pieces are a clear shiny plastic in the color cool grey as most nose pieces are.
