For our week four assignment we were asked to do a detergent bottle. After thinking about many detergent bottle I had laying around I decided to base my form off of one I had currently from Whole Foods that was an all natural and organic detergent. I decided to go with a very organic shape for my detergent bottle making sure there were no rough edges when creating my piece. I also learned how to use new techniques while creating this work and making my piece have more life like qualities to it.

I used many different techniques through this process, but first I created my form using PolyLines. I decided to not go from the tutorial created for us and to mirror two poly lines and create an organic base and then using Sweep2 to create my over all form. Then I created my indentions on each side by piped a curve I created then mirroring it on both sides and boolean differenced the pipe from the surface. Also to create the handle I used a form then boolean differenced that from the overall shape. Then to create my cap I used the helix tool.
I chose my materials from what I would think a regular detergent bottle may have, but not one that is currently on the shelves. I decided to go with clear plastic for the outside to give it a very sleek appearance. Then choosing for the inner form a clear blue plastic so that it almost looks as a liquid inside the overall bottle. I used a clear plain plastic for the cap and the screw so that you could see my helix form easier. Lastly I used a translucent blue to create the detergent like liquid at the bottom.
