My design intent was to create a smooth lawn chair almost entirely rounded pipes. I started my modeling process by creating a closed polysurface and extracting its surface curves. Then I piped these curves. Next, I drew a chair arm and piped that using handles to adjust the width unevenly. I was left with some kinks in my pipes, so I used blend surface to make those pipes smooth. Lastly, I filleted ever joint and lofted a pillow. I finished with a small piped detail on the pillow. In Keyshot, I chose a dark chrome and an aluminum for the chair to highlight the welded fillets. I adjusted the hues on a nylon material to make the pillow color and added a shiny leather detail on it. My logo was created from two dark and light chromes. Lastly, I turned the lighting down slightly so as to catch maximum shadows.
