Paige Roche: Week 6-Ring

Iridescence is a unique ring that shines and shimmers in the light. The Merriam Webster definition of 'Iridescence' is generally known as the property of certain surfaces that appear to change color as the angle of view or angle of illumination changes. The band of the ring is comfortable and shiny which compliments the refractive flower very nicely.

In Rhino, I used the curve tool quite a bit. I first drew my shapes then extruded those curves and used boolean difference and union tools. I used a pipe for the band of the ring. For the middle embellishments I used 13 circles, all different sizes and boolean unioned them together.

In Keyshot, I used the Thin Film Soap Bubble effect for the flower and Emerald gem stone effect for the leaves which gives it the iridescent appeal. I used beige Hard Rough Plastic for the band of the ring and for the middle embellishments I used Titanium Polish. I am very pleased with how my ring turned out and learned a lot along the way!
