Uriel Brown: Week 6 Ring

The inspiration for my ring originally came from the idea of class rings. As I was looking for ideas I began to like the idea of modeling a male wedding ring. So in the end I tried to combine both ideas by adding diamonds as well as huge diamond on the top. That I feel gives the ring a more class ring feel. The process was a bit confusing to begin but after deciding how i wanted the ring to look it became more obvious how to model it. I'm pleased with the outcome because I think the shape accurately displays a class ring but sill looks like a ring a wife would buy for her husband.

when it came time to render it through key-shot I found the gold band gave it a nice touch. But also made it look like a ring that a knight or king would wear, so that was a major reason for keeping the band gold. I felt the name Kings Ring was fitting since a husband could be the king of the home. Overall the process was interesting, and fun since I leaned away from using the tutorials.
