The inspiration for this pair of shoes was my vision of some crazy high heel boots. I have a pair of flat boots that look much like this in terms of the materials and embellishments, and have always wanted to find a pair similar to them but with a stiletto heel. I imagined these boots to be made from some sort of leather, or snakeskin material, and ended up editing a leather material in KeyShot to have traits that landed right in between leather and snakeskin. I chose a shiny hard plastic for the heel, a much smoother leather for the buckle straps. I used an aluminum material for the metal buckles and the label on the heel of the boot to highlight those areas of detail.
Here is my Rhino version of my boot, showing that there are no naked edges.
This is another Rhino version of my boot, this time showing the layer analysis in preparation for KeyShot.
Here is my first KeyShot rendering of my boots. You can see here the front (or back), side, and top views of my design.
This is another KeyShot rendering of my pair of boots, this time I incorporated my inspiration drawing into it.
Here are some more detailed renderings of my boots.
First, I have a detailed view of the decorative buckles on the outside of my boot. I think that the black leather against the aluminum buckles make for a great contrast, and make these embellishments stand out.
This shot shows a closer view of the heels on my shoes, and the leather detail ring along the outside of the sole. I really like the reflectiveness of the shiny plastic on the heel, I think it makes for a much classier boot.
Lastly, here is a detail of the logo I designed with stylized initials, JS. I chose the same aluminum material as the buckles on the top of the shoe to tie the two embellishments together. I chose to make the logo stand out because I want everyone to recognize my design.
