Mark Sincock - Week 8 - Tubular Chair

For this weeks assignment I decided to venture out of my comfort zone of hard and aggressive angles, towards something more fluid. Keeping with the theme of Indonesian names, Ular Sungai translates into River Snake.
I started with creating closed curves perpendicular to the length of the object, then lofted those curves and rebuilt the surface with 150 curves. Extracted the wire frame, and used the curves to create the longways piping. The curves perpendicular to the piping were extruded, then offset, then offset again into a solid, done on the exterior and repeated for the interior
I chose a combination of wood and anodized steel to render.
