Samantha Whitmore: Week 4 Detergent Bottle

Samantha Whitmore Winter 2014 ELDS 205 Detergent Bottle

My inspiration came as I was doing my laundry. I wasted something that was cool, meant for more college kids or young adults. Something that wasn't so serious, but fun and appealing to the eye. I felt that part of the bottle should be kept as transparent as well. This way it's easier to tell when your almost out, rather than running out of detergent in the middle of doing laundry.

To build my bottle i used the tutorials given to us on Blackboard. Using a lot of the Sweep2 command to create joint edges, the project command for making indents or cuts needed, and very much of the FilletEdge command for smoother edges then cornered ones.

This bottle is made of plastic. It's an easy weight material to carry around, especially when liquid is inside and you have to travel many floors to find a washing machine. With a Thin Film with a great thickness added to it for the cap, making it glisten like a bubble. As well as using that for the transparent part to be able to see into the bottle itself.
