Grant Hoskins Week 4: USB
Grant Hoskins Winter 2014 ELDS205
I created a bottle opener USB drive, otherwise known as the U.S.Brewski. I decided to deviate from the tutorial a bit and create a product that I feel has a lot of potential on the market. I was sitting on my couch drinking a beer and thinking about how I need a keychain bottle opener, and thats when it hit me. The U.S.Brewski is the perfect combination of studious and party animal.
I created this USB by taking the dimensions from the bitmap image as shown in the tutorial. I then put my own spin on things. I created several solids separate from the USB. I then took those solids and booleaned sections out. Finally I filleted all of my edges to be nice and silky smooth.
I am pretty satisfied with how my product rendered in Keyshot. The tip of the USB is made of a textured nickel. The memory unit inside is made of white plastic and brass. The body of the opener is made of a black chrome material that I think looks pretty slick. I had a little bit of trouble with my shadows in Keyshot.
