John Sibert Week 6: Eye Wear

For our project we were assigned to use someone elses design in order to create a 3d model. I was given the concept of Key frames by Sean Carl. The glasses are skeleton keys that can be worn during an adventure.

The modeling process involved the use of sketches, which I used to create blue prints from in rhino, which game me many of the necessary curves to build the object. I used a lot of extrusion, filleting edges and command to build solids out of complex shapes like sweep and blend surface.

For my materials I wanted to give the spectacles a extravagant look to highlight the valuable nature of the object. I used emerald accents combined with exotic woods and clear plastics to achieve the body of the spectacles. The lenses are refractive glass, and the keys and bridges are made of a textured copper.
