Chia Yu Lu: Week 3 Mouse

If I have to name one thing that we use that we uses every day and it is extremely dirty the answer would be the computer mouse. Since the mouse is cover over by the bacteria for the benefit of the user I think that would be smart to design one mouse that has very few contact surface to user’s hand.  After some thumbnail sketches I finds out that my design looks like an ant, and then I thought “why should a computer mouse has to be a mouse?” so I take the risk and change the computer mouse to computer mouse.
At the beginning I created the shape of the ant’s head first then I loft the bottom to get the basic shape. By using Boolean different I was able to cut out the eye hole of the ant then I fillet Edge it. To make the eyes I have to make a sphere first and then I rebuilds it make an egg like sphere. Rotate helps me a lot while I was trying to put the eye in the right spot. With the buttons I also began with a sphere then rebuild it to the way I want. Finally comes the most difficult part making the pipe that connects the head the buttons that is apart from the head. I draw two lines one project on the surface of the head another one I have to pull it by F10. In the end I was able to join two different lines and make the pipe out of it.

With the rendering I choose the “Hot Poppy_745633” for the basic color of the ant, and I use Glass basic blue for the eyes of the ant to suggest that is where the blue light would shine and shows how much power that this Bluetooth computer ant still has. With the buttons I use Paint - gloss jet black so I suggest that it is soft and easy to click on.
