Jace McDill Week 2: Tactical Flashlight

I struggled initially to come up with a design concept for my flashlight. After looking at different flashlights on google i decided to go with a tactical style flashlight because those were the most appealing to me. All of the features serve a purpose because that is the tactical essence. From the indentions to provide grip a crucial areas to the inset button for being able to break glass my flashlight is clearly that of tactical descent.

The main tools in my arsenal were the pip tool and the booleandifference command. They helped me create the grip details. The main shapes i used was the cylinder for obvious reasons. And to create the belt clip i drew the shape I wanted using curves and extrudecrv, and I then used the loft command to join all of the edges. Not to mention the all important use of filleting edges.

The materials and colors i used were chosen because that is was it typically seen in a tactical flashlight. I chose anodized metals and neutral colors to keep with the rugged and sleek appearance of my flashlight. the button on the back is rubber and the lens in cubed glass with 6 spheres that i changed to emissive and white to create the appearance of light.
