Nathan Beck:Week 3 Mouse

I love when everyday items are fun and do not take themselves that seriously. In creating my mouse, I wanted to maintain simplicity while having fun with it. As I creating different shapes, I started thinking about the shape of jelly beans ( and how I wanted some at the time). I loved how the shape curved and was easy on the eyes. This shape is easy to rest your hand atop of the mouse and move it around.

When creating my mouse, I tried multiple tool like stretching a sphere, but ulitmately used an extruded curve. I broke the mouse into sections using the project, split, and of course the boolean difference tool. I used a torus as the scroll and as always filleted my edges.

I chose a fresh blue plastic, because it is light and can easily be taken on the go for a laptop. I put a textured rubber on the scroll and the indentions on the side to make it easier to control and grip the mouse. I love a high gloss finish and thought it would be appropriate, because its easy to clean and wipe away the germs that would settle there.
