Crysta Polvinale: Week 2 Flashlight




I wanted to create an entertaining flashlight that could project an image. The idea of playing with light led to the concept of a men in black inspired flashlight that projected constellations. Keeping with this theme, I  wanted the curves of my flashlight to reflect the orbs of a planet or flying saucer.
I created this shape with curves and revolved them around an axis. The holes for the constellations were created with small cylinders and boolean difference. I also used array polar with an ellipse to create the indents around the head of the flashlight.
In keyshot I used materials that reflect the aesthetic of the MIB. They use a lot of chrome and obviously I had to include black. When you turn on this flashlight you can see the stars and ponder what lies beyond our universe...
