Mia Riefkohl: Week 3 Hammer

Hammer
Mia Riefkohl

When I think of a hammer, I think of something chunky, heavy and manly. I wanted to create a hammer that is simple, feminine and friendly. This is a dangerous tool and I wanted to created a design that would disguise this.

For this model the command I used the most is the extrude curve tool. I started with mostly the outline if the hammer and then extruded most curves to create the solids. Then I used fillet and blend commands to create nice, soft edges. For the ornamentation, I used curves, project and pipe tool.

When choosing materials on key shot, I thought about form and function. Metal knob for the functionality and light blue color for the body to make it fun.
