This week we explored a concept that you would normally see in a professional job environment. This concept involves a client handing over, to someone like me, a drawing and asking them to model the design from said drawings. I modeled this pair of sunglasses that were designed my Laura Matteo from the sketches supplied above.

In Rhino I learned how to place images, that were edited in Photoshop, directly into the software as a background reference to build my model from. If you look at Image 1 labeled "Ghosted View" you can see these reference images in the background, they are referred to as Bitmap Backgrounds. Being able to do this really opened up the possibility for me to completely capture the aesthetics of the original design to be translated into a 3-D object.

After redesigning and stylizing this product I again used Keyshot to give the sunglasses texture and a realistic lighting situation. The main body frame is made out of a bendable plastic material trimmed with golden edges, and accompanied by burgundy polarized lenses. Doing all of this further continued my experimentation of working with different lighting environments and camera angles to capture images of this design. Doing so I acquired more and more skills for later on down the road.
