Brett LaCour Week 5: Sunglasses

Given the drawings the modeling process for the Apex fishing eyewear was seemingly easy to execute.  Tracing the contours from the interpreted drawing was the easiest part.  Yet I found that trying to emulate the intended surfaces was a little challenging.
Most of the structures including the frame and ear pieces were constructed using the sweep 2 command.  This process was a little challenging when trying to control the direction of the contours.  After a few tries I was able to execute the command properly.  Another challenging portion were the lens'.   I extruded the traced contour, then exploded the extrusion.  I rebuilt the surface then manipulated the contours to fit just inside the frame.  I extruded the manipulated surface using the extrude surface command then boolean union the lens into the frame.  The boolean union took a few tries before unifying properly.
Lastly, for my materials choice I chose a bright shiny blue plastic coinciding with the fishing concept of the glasses.  I also used a tranluscent material for the lens then changed the color to a bright green in an attempt to show that the lens was polarized like most fishing eyewear.
So far this model was the hardest to produce, probably because of the level of accountability due to trying to replicate the drawings.  But still fun.
