Michael Huh: Week 5 Sunglasses

Michael Huh Winter 2014 ELDS 205 Sunglasses

This project was very rewarding. I learned a lot of different techniques on how to construct different forms. Due to the fact that this shades are not mine I had to learn different ways on how to construct. For instant I learned on how to create rope instead of using the regular piping and also extruding lines into solids instead of straight extruded lines.
I scanned all the drawings and adjusted it in photoshop and used picture frame to paste it on Rhino. I than used lines tools to create my 3d forms. I used extrude surface and extrude planar curves to help construct these shades 3d form. For the rope I drew out a rope like form and used extrude planar curve to form the 3d shape. I than used F10 and adjusted the points. For the top two pipings in the front and the nose pieces I used line tools and used extrude surface to form the nose pieces.
For the materials I used plastic for the shades frame top two piping, and used axalta for the nose grip and the nose grip holder. For the sides I used leather and also used leather for the back rope. For the color choice I went with olive green/black/red/ and white. I feel like these colors goes well together.
