Brian Kuo: Week 6 Glass Ring

When designing this ring, I aimed for a simple design. I do not feel like I would wear a ring on a daily basis, and designed it thinking less about practicality and more about how it looks. This is why the gems are sticking out above the ring surface, for example.
To make the ring, I made a pipe, polar arrayed it, and then boolean differenced it out to create the grooves in the ring. Then, I drew a curve, projected and extruded it, and boolean differenced a hole for them to sit in to create the green stones. I used a similar process for the red ruby stones.
The materials I used were glass, ruby, and emerald. Although it would shatter easily if dropped, and might scratch because of the material and the way it is shaped, the idea is it is not supposed to be a daily beater that you wear every day.
