Kathrine Clark: Week 6 Ring

Week 6 Project
Ring

My inspiration for this project was geometric shapes of varying sizes. I wanted to create a chunky ring with fluid stones laid out in a symmetrical pattern. I chose vertical and horizontal orientation to enhance the presentation.

The band was designed to be a bit smaller in the back so that it would be more comfortable for the wearer. I increased the height in the front to accomplish that feature. I utilized the flow along curve command to inlay the pave stones on the four Boolean projectiles as well as the signature within the ring. I removed the back portion of the front of the ring (behind the stones) with a Boolean difference from an oval solid. I then placed the stones on different layers in order to utilize different materials in keyshot.

Platinum was the precious metal selected for the main body of the ring and the accent pieces. Cyan with a coffee colour were combined so the stones would complement each other nicely. The final product is a sleek classically styled ring with a contemporary twist.
