Ryan Gillam: Week 5 sunglasses

The drawing a I chose seemed to be the type of glasses one would wear casually to beach or other leisure oriented places.  It was very reminiscent of Ray Ban's classic wayfarers.

In the construction of this model I primarily drew free form curves based on the drawing and extruded them.  Once I had extruded them I patched the surface and joined the edges.  The get the curve of the frames I used the bend tool to try something new as opposed to projecting the curve.  Despite joining the edges the fillet tool was giving me undesirable results.  In the lenses I made surface contour adjustments with the control points.

I used the soft materials for the frames to give a nice matte finish.  The lenses are made from the basic black glass.  It was shaded enough but still allowed light to pass through.
