Andra Wibisono: Assignment: 5 Sunglasses

Modelling off of a drawing was harder than expected. I found that my drawing did not have enough accurate detail to base a proper construction out of, so i decided to clean up and modify the drawing. I adjusted some details and changed some elements in the design, while keeping the overall form and concept intact.

I began modelling by tracing out the frame and lenses of the glasses. I turned the curves that i traced into a solid by projecting them onto a surface, then extruding it. After filleting all the edges i then created the handles, accents and bolts. The handles were done by extruding a rounded rectangle onto a curve. The side shades were created by extruding the pre-existing part of the frame curve, then trimming to match the shape to the drawing.

I chose to keep the color choices to a minimum and decided to apply black shiny plastic to the frame. The side shades have a translucent dark blue plastic while the lenses are a dense black colored glass material. The bolts and accents give excellent contrast with their metal materials; titanium for the bolts and silver for the accents.
